Mary Grill writes and performs sketch comedy with her husband Matt Hobby ("Tying the Knot" currently running at Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in NYC) and with New Exc!tement (Just For Laughs Montreal, Comedy Central Crash Mansion, Sketch Festivals: New York, Toronto, Charleston and Chicago , ECNY nomination "Best Sketch Team," UCB, The PIT). She has performed on the UCB Maude Teams, Neighbor Boy and Gorilla Gorilla. Mary also collaborates with "PERIODS. Films." She plays “Mary” in their upcoming feature film The Wedding Video, produced by Anonymous Content (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Being John Malkovich) and Before the Door Pictures (Margin Call).

Originally from Chicago, Mary improvised with The Second City House Ensemble, and was a sketch comedy writer/performer with Self-Centered Girl at The Second City. She holds a BFA in acting from The Theatre School at DePaul University. Mary has worked on NBC's Whitney, Comedy Central's Ugly Americans and Indecision 2012, HBO's Boardwalk Empire, The Food Network's Restaurant Stakeout and The Onion News Network.

Matt Hobby has been in New York since '03, and is currently performing "Tying the Knot" (a sketch show about his engagement), with his beautiful wife, Mary Grill.

Matt will appear in the third season of HBO's Boardwalk Empire, and he has previously been on The Onion Sportsdome and the Food Network, as well as sketches with CollegeHumor, LandlineTV and the PERIODS. team.

Along with New Exc!tement, Matt performed "Really Good News" at both UCB-NY and the Montreal Just for Laughs Festival (2010). He is a proud member of "Borealis", and has also done make-em-ups with"ZOLTAR", "Hospital: An Improvised Drama" and "Matthew Bradford Hobby & Michelle Rebecca Wolf". Matt did stand up for a while and is thinking of getting back into it.
